Alien Imperial Army on Parade |
In my universe the Kra'Vak are such a race. A low birth rate and a penchant for warfare keep this race's population low. After encountering humanity they were forced to enlist conquered races into their war machine.
This army is particularly large, both on my table and with the number of units in the army list. Believe it or not, due to the sheet number of choices there are some units that I do not have yet. There are a total of 21 unit choices for this army, making it the largest list in the game.
Small ASL games are normally 100 points and are played on a 4x4 table. 200 point games are played on a 4x6 table. Alien Imperial armies are required to have 5 Primitive units per 100 points.
Alien Imperial units are all equipped with Superior Energy Weapons. Normally when shooting one rolls 2d6, needing a 7+ to hit the target (modifiers can change this target number). In ASL, if ones die equal the target number the enemy unit may become pinned down or have to retreat away from the unit. If your dice roll is greater than the target number then you may cause a hit to the target in addition to a reaction move (each stand in ASL has 3 wounds). However, a natural score of ANY DOUBLE that requires a score of 10 or less to hit causes 2 hits. A unit equipped with Superior Energy Weapons rolls 3 dice and chooses the best 2. This means Alien Imperial units hit more often and cause damage more often. Many units are also equipped with Superior Energy Shields which can help negate hits.
This army currently consists of:
2 Kra'Vak Command groups with Superior Energy Weapons, 14 points ea
1 Primitive Lhurgg Command group with archaic firearms, 8 pts ea
9 Kra'Vak Infantry groups with Superior Energy Weapons, 9 pts ea
4 Kra'Vak Heavy Weapon groups with Superior Energy Weapons, 11 pts ea
2 Kra'Vak Powered Armor groups with jump packs and computer assisted aiming devices, 14 pts ea
